THE STORY

This project came from a mix of different ideas, motives and reasons.
Since moving to Auburn, I have been exposed to a lot of different cultures and different types of people.
The most prominent of these contacts has been with the Muslim community here in Auburn.
I am a huge soccer fan, so my friends and I go play soccer at the gym every Thursday night.
Something that I immediately noticed is the amount of International students that go play soccer on Thursdays
So after a few months I started to talk and become friends with some of the Saudi Arabian students that go play there every week.
While on the court, they yell and say all kinds of stuff to each other in Arabic, so I got interested on learning what they were saying and started asking questions about their language. I learned a few words.
So this project came from the interaction with everyday people.
There are an estimated 6–7 million Muslims living in America. They represent about 3% of the population
They play a huge role in the development and the promotion of diversity in America. And the job of the media is to inform about them in the best possible manner.
I decided to go beyond the divide and investigate about the Muslim community.
